Can Advertising Influence Our Life We Live Media Essay
Can Advertising Influence Our Life We Live Media Essay These days every one sees advertising in their life, however this person has not watched TV or listened to the radio. Normally,an average person who watches television 1 to 4 hours a daye. During these hours of watching Tv,there is a big profiibility, because it has an impact on peoples choices by showin them the new and available product that this person watches advertisement. It is powerful on attracting consumers psychologically, visually and also culturally. but the problem is that can these attractive advertising affect our life or not? The propose of this conceptual paper is to understand the influence of advertising on our life. In this paper I satudy forth part which is important in our llife such as culture, health and economy. Key words: advertising, effect on people life 1.Introduction These days advertising is Wherever you live in the world, whether it is Europe, America or Australia ,even you live in rural city you will see advertising. You can see advertising in several ways such as: newspaper , radio ,TV and billboard which puts up along the roadside,so it is ubiquitous and virtually unavoidable for the average consumer. In begin it si better to know what advertisment means:Advertising is a communication tool which by the marketers to inducing the potential buyers to purchase certain product or service. It plays a pivotal role in achieving the financial and commercial objectives of the companies concerned. The role of advertising is also vital in the cutthroat competitive environment . advertising shows to their demand a bit more of the marketers towards informing, educating and facilitating the customer as to how to have a timely access to certain product or a service in a novel and innovative way. The marketers are therefore devising ways to make advertising more effective.General Attitude of College Students Towards Consequences and Impact of Television Advertising in Pakistan 592 Despite the fact that advertising is an effective tool for the business along with its being an important element of the modern age and a fast growing industry, the public image of advertising is still a matter of great concern. (ODonohoe,1995). Advertising is criticized for its presenting misleading information, promoting adverse values, fake claims, subliminal seduction messages and persuading people to buy things they no longer need (Katona, 1964; Pollay, 1986; Pollay and Mittal,1993). Again, this industry is blamed of spreading unsustainable consumption patterns around the world over and encouraging excessive consumption. All the foregoing aspects are apt to hinder its effectiveness as well as efficiency as a marketing tool (Beales et al., 1981; Calfee and Ringold, 1987; Pollay and Mittal, 1993; Wright, 1986). Therefore, it is critical of the advertising concerns to follow the public opinion advertising for its for reaching impact on the economy, cultural values and our health. (Wills and Ryans; 1982.) 2)Effect of advertising on culture Culture is one of the significant aspects which is changed by seeing advertisement. Be for being of this part, it is essential to know what culture means that the way of life which includes beliefs, aesthetics and institutions of a civilization. This definition shows that culture is more effected by advertising, because images used in advertising are often idealized, they eventually set the standard which we in turn feel we must live up to. firstable, The essential goal of advertising is to convince the consumer that he or she would have a better life if he/she used this advertised product. Of course they also tell us the only way we can reach the level of beauty, intelligence, or some other value is through the use of their product. For example, with the Give your hair a Boost! ad, it is obviously counting on the woman with gorgeous hair who fills up the entire ad and is used to make you wonder if your hair is good enough. (Fruit Kicks) The text in the ad is minimal and that which is there is very weak in arguing for this products superiority. The advertisers main hope is when you go to buy personal hygiene products, you will remember the beauty of the woman and the healthiness of her hair. (Fruit Kicks) They are confident their target audience will transfer feelings they get from this womans appearance toward the product and will end up purchasing it. Secondly, advertisment affect on people daily progromm.for instance; if there is a sport that is getting a lot of attention by the media and gains popularity among your friends and society, you will more likely want to practice the sport and be cool with all your friends,so you will have fun with your friends and be more healthy because of the exercise you are doing. Also, our spoken language is impacted by seeing advertising.for example, the language used in an advertisement, many times, is influenced by the new generations with new words that may have not existed ten years before. This example is a proof of the development of culture as well. Indian example which shows us how advertising changing their Indian life. As village politician Chandraprakash Dwivedi said Now village girls want to dress like Rani Mukherjee in Bunty aur Babli this within four weeks of the release of the film. Men want a hairstyle like Radhe Bhayya in hit movie Tere Naam. Bindis. Many other aspects of culture have been sacrificed in favour of western influences. Folk music and travelling singers have given way to cassettes and compact discs. Although information and communication links that television, cinema, radio and newspapers have brought about are a lot; it is undeniable that they have had a very strong impact on the masses who watch them. Culture and social structures have suffered, as have traditional art forms and methods of communication. 3) Effect of advertising on our economy Advertising plays a critical role in a market economy. As Dr. Kenneth Arrow and the late Dr. George Stigler, said: Advertising is a powerful tool of competition. It provides valuable information about products and services in an efficient and cost-effective manner. In this way, advertising helps the economy to function smoothly-it facilitates the entry of new products and new firms into the market. 3.1-First, according to Georges quote, Advertising plays a significant role in the business cycle In a country in which consumer spending determines the future of the economy. Advertising motivates people to spend more by conveying useful information, which tells them about product and service choices, and accelerate the regular acceptance of new products and to lift the level of acceptability of established products, so Consumers who view the advertisement update their information and consumption decisions and may purchase the product. In fact demand for product, which advertisement showed, goes up so company s profit increase. Also this event cause on companys security, it means by increasing its profit, its finance is more stable, so company feel more safety. Finally, company decide to increase the number of its product or it wants to make a new product. for each of them it needs new employee. Thus, advertising makes a job or it increase employment in our society. For example U.S. advertising accounts for about 2.5 percent of the countrys $14 trillion gross national product. American consumers rely heavily on advertising to influence how they spend some $9 trillion annually on various goods and services. A 1999 study by one of the countrys premier econometric modeling firms, the WEFA Group, and Nobel Laureate in economics Dr. Lawrence R. Klein further underscored this economic impact. The study found that advertising played a key role in generating 18.2 million of the 126.7 million jobs in the United States in that year. 3.2-secondly,advertising reduce selling cost. Companies believe that advertising is one of the best way which can introduce their new product to their costumer even other people which do not have any information about their product. They know that it is impossible to introduce their product to each person face to face. It takes a lot of time. In fact their money and their time is wasted by doing this work. At least this event increase their product selling cost, so advertising helping them by showing their product to other people and reduce selling cost. 3) Effect of advertising on our healthy Effect of advertising on health Most people have learned what they know about health from personal experience, from friend and relative, form government , from the family doctor and ,,,,. Advertising is one of the way which is learned people about their health by showing the good point of their product ,which is goof for their health. In fact , these advertising influence people by making good impression that can persuade them. Some of these products advertising are not really good for the health. 1)For example tobacoo advertising. These companies use term such as light to misunderstand smoker by believing that brand is safer and reduce health risks more than others, so thy will continue to support these company by buying cigarette. 2)another example of which is make mislead smoker is that sometimes cigarette ads are placed next to wight loos ads in magazines. Many young girls suffer from weight issue, so when they see cigarette ads and weight they decide to use it more than before. In other hand, some of unhealthy products depict peoples imagine. For example: 1) Tobacco companies show smoking look glamorous and cool, so teens are so concerned with their image and want to look like the models that are in the advertisements, they will start smoking cigarettes. 2) Beer advertising shows that if you drink this brand of beer you may catch your dreamy girl. It is one of wishes that young boys have, so they lead to drink more this brand of beer. these daye Beer is the beverage of choice for many youth, and between 1998 and 2002, industry spending on televised beer ads increased 45 percent to $972 million. Figure2 competes beer with other alcohol drink .: According to this figure ,we understand how much beer advertising is successful than other alcohols drink such sprit and wine .it has more fanner because of its advertising

The Young Persons Development Children And Young People Essay
The Young Persons Development Children And Young People Essay Parents that are going through a marriage breakdown, divorce and separation can be stressful for all involved particularly the children/young person. They can become emotionally withdrawn and suffer a lack of confidence which can create low self esteem. Due to family upheaval, they may lose focus in their own abilities and suffer mentally. Similarly, children from single parent families may suffer from a lack of a male/female role model which can cause social stigma. Dual parents and lone parents may have to work long hours, leaving little room for direct social, emotional and intellectual support. Becoming part of a new step-family through a parent meeting a new partner can cause friction between children from each side. This could lead the child/young person to become socially and emotionally withdrawn which could increase the risk of bullying by peers. Having numerous siblings can have an impact on children causing additional needs to be met. Children may feel frustrated with lack of attention within the home and also may be required to assist with siblings needs which could cause social and emotional problems. Additionally, becoming a brother/sister to a new sibling for the first time can be stressful and having to adapt to not being an only child can be difficult at first and can create an emotional strain on the child. Being part of a social care system through neglect, physical/emotional abuse and loss of parent can prove difficult for children and although this can largely be a positive experience for many, it can also lead to problems within all areas of development particularly in relation to social and emotional areas. Having a sick parent/carer can be extremely challenging for children, their social and emotional wellbeing can be affected with having to endure possible social stigma and suffer emotionally if not supported in the correct manner. Time off from school may cause intellectual issues and additional help may be required. Family bereavement can be extremely traumatic for children even when a child/young person has been prepared. This can create emotional strain and unexpected outbursts of emotion should be expected. Socially, children may feel different from their peers who havenà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t experienced bereavement. They may suffer intellectually due to missing school days and also concentration and behaviour may be affected when they are in school. Moving house and/or area can be difficult for children as they have to adjust to a whole new social situation with changing schools and adapting to new routines. Children may become socially introverted and display high levels of emotion. Cultural differences can affect a child/young person through English being spoken as a second language which can cause a lack of confidence at school and additional intellectual support being required. Health There can be many health aspects that affect a child/young personà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢s development. Children become extremely resilient and are often able to manage their conditions very well; however, certain aspects of their development can prove challenging throughout periods of ill health. Children may suffer from conditions such as asthma, which if not well controlled, can cause children to have extended periods of time off from school. This in turn leads to intellectual development being compromised as well as social development due to relationships not being maintained. Disability in children, whether it be physical or intellectual can be particularly difficult. A child that has a hearing impairment may suffer physically through loss of balance or socially through having to communicate in alternative ways such as sign language/makaton. A physical disability such as Cerebral Palsy can be physically challenging due to being restricted in taking part in certain activities. This can affect social situations due to these restrictions and can affect a child/young person emotionally questioning why they are different causing low self-esteem. Being diagnosed with a serious illness such as cancer as a child/young person can also prove to lead to developmental issues. All areas of development can be compromised, intellectually, through missing school and being too ill to complete set work. They may suffer physically depending on the specific illness causing them to be weak and/or in too much pain and discomfort to complete physical activities. Socially they may be too ill to interact with others and/or maintain friendships. They may also become emotionally withdrawn and find it difficult to cope with their emotions. Allergies affect many children, particularly food allergies; this in turn can lead to social problems as they may become excluded from certain situations where their allergies are not known. In contrast they may feel a certain social stigma as their allergies are highlighted, for example; when eating lunch at school, they may be required to wear a special badge which shows their allergies, causing them to feel different from their peers. They have to be more physically aware of their condition and how this can cause changes in their body and manage this accordingly. Environment Environmental factors can play a huge part in affecting a child/young personà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢s development. These can vary from cultural factors to living conditions. Children/young people from less advantaged backgrounds who live in poverty can have their development seriously compromised. They are less likely to have educational support from parents/carers which in turn creates intellectual problems for the child/young person. This is further influenced by having a lack of learning resources available such as access to computers and books. They may become disillusioned with education from an early age which sets them on a path of social and emotional turmoil. Also, they may suffer socially by not being able to participate in certain paid activities offered through school and outside school which means they interact less in physical activities. They may also feel that they cannot compete with their peers with regards to fashion trends and owning the latest technology. They might not seem to be as physically strong as their peers; parents/carers might experience difficulty in providing healthy, regular meals which can cause problems with their phy sical well-being. Their emotions can seem quite immature at times and they may well become emotionally withdrawn but also prone to emotional outbursts associated with behavioural difficulties, displaying a lack of attention.

Leadership :: School Leaders, Ethical Behaviors, Administration
ââ¬Å"Real leaders concentrate on doing the right thing, not on doing things right.â⬠According to Lashway (1996) this advice is nothing new to school leaders who face ethical dilemmas on a daily basis. Although administrators face these dilemmas on a daily basis, very few of them are trained or pedagogically equipped to deal with these conflicts. To prove the amplitude of this problem Reilly (2006) states that ethical breeches exist and ââ¬Å"illegal behaviors happen even in the school yard in the presence of children, the can also serve to distract us from the larger matters to which we must attendâ⬠(p. 164). This is not a problem that can merely be swept under the carpet. Instead, administrators must take a look at why they do things, and why they make certain decisions. Kocabas and Karakose (2009) cite several leading experts that describe the self-examination that an administrator must make when they are faced with an ethical dilemma: Ethical issues are part of everyday life in schools. They frequently arise from decisions which require value judgments about doing the right thing, or saying the good or best thing in a particular situation. Although doing the right thing seems easy enough most times when an ethically difficult situation arises, it may cause individuals to examine their ethics in practice (p. 126). The situations that administrators face can cause them to take a close look at why they make certain decisions. Examining oneââ¬â¢s own decision can greatly aid the decision making process. Administrators must examine their own ethics and make ethical decisions because schools are inherently dedicated to the well-being of the children who attend (Lashway, 2006). The ethical climate of the school is the responsibility of the administrator in charge. The relationships that develop ethically in the school between students, staff, and administrators are directly related to the behavior and decision-making of the administrator (Sagnak, 2010, p. 1136). This leads to the question: What is ethical behavior for an administrator? According to the American Association of School Administrators (2010), there are some behaviors that are required for an administrator to behave ethically. First an administrator must make the educational well-being of the students the fundamental condition of the decision-making process. Also, the administrator must fulfill their professional duties honestly and always act in a responsible manner. Further, the administrator should allow his positive ethical behavior to carry over to his staff.

Essay --
I was born and I live in Armenia, a country that has a rich history(over five thousand years), culture and traditions. Throughout its history Armenia has seen a lot. And now, after seventy years of being a part of the Soviet Union, it has already been twenty years that Armenia is an independent country. As it is a "young" country and is considered to be a developing one, it needs a lot of help to overcome the bad social-economical situation. Who else if not the youth of Armenia must be concerned about this and have their even small contribution to the prosperous future of Armenia? But for making a change you yourself must be developed and skilled enough to take the responsibility. This is one of the reasons why I want to study in the United States of America, as it is one of the most developed countries in the world, it has a lot of skills in education (in the field that I have chosen) and is a great example of civilized country. Currently I am a sophomore at Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute named after Hovh. Toumanyan with the profession of specialist in English , teache...
OKB Essay
Learning Issues Chapter 1 (OKB) a) There was some mention about stakeholders in the problems, who are the stakeholders and what their stakes? 1. Capital market stakeholders In this case, the capital market shareholder of a firm is bank and shareholder. In this case the shareholder who gives OKB financial resources for OKB business. The stake of these shareholders is to ensure the OKB businesses continues their operation and can meet the expectation on the capital they had given. 2. Akar Enterprise (supplier) Is a major supplier for OKB Bhd. They supply herbs and roots from the forest of Perak. Their stakes is whether they able to meet the demand of OKB to continue supply raw material. 3. Customer We know that The Guardian approached OKB to supply its medicinal products to them. If that thing happen the sales would increase since consumer prefer use OKB products 4. Employee We notice that the OKBââ¬â¢s production process is carried out manually by the ââ¬Å"kampung folksâ⬠. If OKB accept the offer from The guardian, the process will change to the machine since they will change it to mix of pills, capsules and liquid-compound forms. If this happen, they no longer can work for OKB in a manufacturing the products. 5. Government Ministry of health is a body who observe and monitor the quality and the safety of products. It is already mention about the latest markey surveys conducted by them, OKB is still the first choice among consumers. It shown that the product is safe to be used. b) What do you think of the comment made by the management about OKBââ¬â¢s Vision & OKBââ¬â¢s achievements? I think the old vision may not be suitable anymore to face the changes of economy nowadays. This is because, OKB more relies in traditional approach and they should come out with a new vision that promote abouts its products quality and attract customer. With a good vision, OKB can be more success and achieve their targets. They should change their vision not only based on customer need but also based on environment changes and also satisfied their employees. OKB Bhd can be more competitive to the real world and they can easily adapting the changes that have taken place on the industry. Learning Issue Chapter 2 Explain to Datin Timah about the importance of getting to know the external environment. Discuss the possible impact of the DPEST & G factors and the Competitive Forces (The 5 Forces) on her business. The DPEST & G analysis segmented the external environment into 6 segments which are demographic, political or legal, sociocultural, technological, global and environment segments. The first segment is political or legal segments. This segment focuses on organization to aware of any changes. Management must aware of consumer tastes and buying power. Any changes must be consider in the managementââ¬â¢s strategies as changes on political or legal segments affect direct or indirectly on the demands of the market. Sociocultural segment need to be considered by management. These refer to the consumers concerns regarding the market, as there were negative views from the customer. Customer view the product should be revamping into modern pills and capsules rather than traditional packaging. They should be innovative in market their products and use the resources for best effectiveness and efficiently strategies. OKB Bhd can use technological advance thus creating competitive advantages of organization in the market. Advance in technologies can increasing the efficiency of productions and increase the value of product. Next is economic segment. This refers to the nature and direction of the economy in which a firm competes. This can help the management to create decision what suitable time to production. Last segment is global segment. Datin should know the global environment where existing markets are changing and thus taking the opportunity to make OKB Bhd well known by expanding the business and making improvement and innovative improvement on their products that are different from other competitors. The five forces of competition model are threat of new entrants, bargaining power of the supplier, bargaining power of the buyer, threat of the substitute products and intensity of rivalry among competitors. The threat of new entrants is important factors to identify since it can threaten the market share of the existing competitors. In this case, OKB must have their own strategy, vision and mission in order to compete with new entrant by improving their products image, packaging and make some innovation in order to create competitive advantage. Next is threat of substitute products. In this case, OKB have another competitor that provide and sell same products for consumer such as Guardian. Therefore, OKB must make a study and research how to faced this problems and attract their customer. Bargaining power of supplier is a situation when the supplier use to expert power over firms competing within industry. OKB major supplier is Akar Enterprise. In order to have enough resources and fulfill the demand, OKB should buy the resources from other supplier so that they are not facing problem such as insufficient material and high price of resources charges by supplier. Next is bargaining power of the buyer. Buyer mostly more attract with product that offer a lower price and give them a higher benefit and satisfied their interest. OKB should improve their product in taste and product image and give a reasonable price in order to attract customer. Last forces is intensity of rivalry among competitors. The competitors always alert and beware about their competitor. This is because any changes by another company made can affect their business. So they must take a action in order to ensure customer will loyalty to them.

Hawk Roosting Critical Essay
Hawk Roosting: Critical Essay Kieran Mooney Task: Choose a poem which is a specific poetic form. Show how the particular form helped your appreciation of the ideas and/or feelings which the poem explores. In your answer you must refer closely to the text and at least two of; form, theme, imagery, or any other appropriate features. ââ¬Å"Hawk Roostingâ⬠is a poem by Ted Hughes. The poem helps the reader appreciate the ideas and feelings which are explored throughout the poem. This is skilfully done through form, imagery and word choice over the course of the poem. The poem is about a hawk resting high up in a tree. Through a monologue, the poem reveals the hawk to be a steady-minded, rational and believable character. In the first stanza, the poet begins to hint to the reader what sort of personality the hawk has. He does this in the first line if the poem: ââ¬Å"I sit in the top of the wood, my eyes closedâ⬠This suggests to the reader that the hawk has no fear. This is shown by the words ââ¬Ëeyes closedââ¬â¢. The word ââ¬Ëtopââ¬â¢ signifies that the hawk is the top in the forest and that he rules the forest, and that there is nobody above, or more powerful than him. The hawk is again referred to being powerful in the line: ââ¬Å"Between my hooked head and hooked feetâ⬠In this line the alliteration of ââ¬Ëhââ¬â¢ together with the assonance in ââ¬Ëooââ¬â¢ makes the reader drag out the word ââ¬Ëhookedââ¬â¢, which emphasises the word and the hard harsh sound contained in it. This portrays a dangerous and rugged view of the hawk. Stanza two shows the reader that the hawk believes the elements that are there are ââ¬Ëof advantageââ¬â¢ to him: The airââ¬â¢s buoyance and the sunââ¬â¢s ray, Are of advantage to meâ⬠This shows the hawk feels everything is there to assist him, and that he is the reason all the elements exist. The poet uses personification to describe the ââ¬Ëairââ¬â¢ and the ââ¬Ësunââ¬â¢, this tells the reader the hawk feels they are on his side and he rules them, like a general inspecting his troops. This idea is continued in stanza three with: ââ¬Å"And the earthââ¬â¢s face upwards for my inspectionâ⬠This again makes the reader aware of the hawkââ¬â¢s superiority and reminds them that the hawk is not going to give up his position without a fight. The hawk goes on to tell the reader: ââ¬Å"It took the whole of Creation to produce my foot, my each feather. Now I hold creation in my footâ⬠This shows the hawk is a well-designed creature, and is perfectly adapted for living in the woods. The quote also shows the hawk to be arrogant and obnoxious, as he feels he is better that his Creator, God, as having exceeded him. In Stanza four the idea of superiority is shown present once again: ââ¬Å"I kill where I please because it is all mineâ⬠This clearly states where the hawk believes he stands, and shows that he has no remorse for any of the other creatures. The idea that the hawk is a ruthless killer, and he kills his prey without a second thought, culpability or being beleaguered by his integrity. The hawk again shows his power: ââ¬Å"There is no sophistry in my body. My manners are tearing off headsâ⬠This show to the reader that the hawk to be lethal and vicious. It also shows that because he is on top, the hawk does not need to be polite, respectful or sophisticated, and that he feels no empathy for their pain or suffering, and has no regard to killing them. This further shows his merciless nature. The fifth stanza is the hawk describing his home as ââ¬Ëthe allotment of deathââ¬â¢. This shows the reader the hawk has total power and control over everything and reinforces the fact that he feels he can kill what and where he likes without any consideration. It also tells us: ââ¬Å"For the one path of m flight is direct, through the bones of the livingâ⬠This gives the reader an extremely gruesome and graphic image of the hawk killing its prey, and shows us the reality of his predator behaviour. It also links back to ââ¬Ëno sophistryââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëtearing off headââ¬â¢ to strengthen the fact that he is a powerful cold blooded killer. We are told: ââ¬Å"No arguments assert my rightâ⬠This demonstrates that the hawk is indeed the top predator in the forest and that nobody dares to challenge him for his position. In the final stanza, stanza six, we are given a haughty, self-flattering closing statement from the hawk: ââ¬Å"Nothing has changed since I began. My eye has permitted no change. I am going to keep thing like thisâ⬠This shows us the hawk is well aware of the effect he has on the environment and is instinctive in his actions. He is content with the way things have turned out and are not going to let them change easily, especially as the odds are in his favour. he is going to try keep things running his way as changing things would upset the natural rhythm of life. In conclusion, ââ¬Å"Hawk Roostingâ⬠is a poem which helps the reader appreciate the ideas and feelings which are explored throughout the poem, through the poets use of imagery and word choice throughout the poem.
